SO WHAT'S IT
ALL ABOUT?
The emphasis of this course is introducing you to the core climbing skills working towards you becoming a self-reliant climber whilst enjoying as much rock as we can climb! We will aim to use a variety of locations, you’ll just need to bring your enthusiasm and a sense of adventure!
This sport workshop is ideal for anyone with indoor 'lead' skills that wants to transition into outdoor sport climbing. Sport Climbing is popular in North Wales due to having many great pre-bolted venues, from the Dinorwig slate quarry to the varied Limestone crags down the A55. The weekend workshop will be great for new climbers to 'sport' and those wishing to improve their existing skills.

This workshop will be about you safely transferring your existing skills and experience to an outdoor environment under supervision and guidance from us as instructors and coaches. This is your taster into the big wide world of sport climbing and you never know you may want to further those skills and become a safe leader/trad climber, if so then this is the perfect adventure to start on that pathway.

Ideally you will have an understanding of basic movement skills, be able to belay and lead climb indoors efficiently and have your own personal climbing kit which will allow us to get the most out of the day. This workshop will give you the confidence for building your own anchors for lower off, practice balanced clipping positions, how to stay safe and problem solve and the use of aids such as clip sticks to protect hard moves.
