CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
These conditions also apply to each individual when booking as a group. It is advised that you take out your own personal accident/cancellation insurance. I strongly recommend that you take out personal accident and travel insurance when booking that will cover you in the event of you having to cancel your course / trip for any reason. This may allow you to recover prior payments if you have to cancel and the circumstances of your cancellation are covered by the insurance contract.

COVID-19
You need to follow relevant home nation Government guidance on Coronavirus and not travel to nor attend guiding/instruction with Paul Poole Mountaineering (PPM) if you are demonstrating symptoms of COVID-19 or self-isolating according to national guidelines. Guidance on the specific symptoms and self-isolation measures are clearly available on the respective Government websites. See note above on Insurance and Cancellation.

PPM courses do not include any personal accident, cancellation, third party liability or personal insurance. PPM recommend that you take out your own policy. PPM will accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property.

Both Nepal and Morocco involve going to altitude and carry an inherent risk of altitude illness. These trips also visit remote locations or poorly developed regions where infrastructure is limited. In such places, the risks to health are increased and the ability to treat injury or illness effectively is reduced. Additionally, anything that involves snow-covered, rocky, steep, mountainous terrain are hazardous activities with a risk of serious injury or loss of life. By signing these booking conditions you acknowledge these hazards and your acceptance of the associated risks.
Expeditions to Morocco and Nepal can have days in the itinerary that are included to provide flexibility in case of bad weather, or some other untoward event, and thereby increase the chance of the principal objective being achieved and for the trip to be successful. If these days are not needed and the group decides to return (for instance) from the mountains to a valley location earlier than planned, any additional costs incurred and associated with extra hotel nights, or services that would not otherwise have been provided nor were included in the published itinerary, must be met by each individual concerned at the time.
In addition, if you decide or through illness that you need to return from the mountains to a valley location earlier than planned, any additional costs incurred and associated with extra hotel nights, or services that would not otherwise have been provided nor were included in the published itinerary, must be met by each individual concerned at the time.
For all trips outside the United Kingdom, you must have adequate insurance cover for search, helicopter rescue, and repatriation in the event of a medical emergency.
In the case of a suspected or confirmed emergency involving you or the group of which you are a member, PPM reserves the right to arrange (or to make arrangements for its or your insurers to arrange) search, rescue and recovery as it deems appropriate and reasonable. You agree to indemnify PPM and keep the PPM indemnified from all losses, apportioned appropriately to you, arising from any such search, any such helicopter usage, and any resulting repatriation, for medical or non-medical reasons, including legal costs of making a recovery against you.
CHANGE OF COURSE DATE BY THE CLIENT
A client may apply, in writing, to change course or course dates as long as the original booking is more than 8 weeks from the date of the request. Any requests to change course or course dates within the 8 week period will be dealt with under the terms and conditions relating to cancellation by the customer.

CANCELLATION BY PPM
Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that advertised courses actually run, PPM will notify the client of cancellation as soon a possible where it believes on reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions for the course activity.
In the unlikely event that PPM has to cancel your course, you will be offered either a full refund or another date.
PPM will not be liable for any travel or accommodation-related expenses.
CANCELLATION BY THE CLIENT
A cancellation by the client must be in writing.
Once notified of the cancellation in writing, PPM will try to resell the course place(s). In the event that PPM is able to resell the course place prior to the commencement date, the client will receive a full refund.
In the event that PPM is unable to resell the course place(s) prior to the course commencement date the client will be charged the following cancellation fees:
UK courses (except Scottish Winter/Isle of Skye)
Where notice is 56 days (8 weeks) or less, no refund will be given.
If notice is 57 days or more, PPM will refund your payment(s).

Scottish Winter/Isle of Skye & Overseas Courses*
Where notice is 90 days or less, no refund will be given.
If notice is 91 days or more, PPM will refund your payment minus the non-refundable deposit.
Refunds will only be made after the commencement date of the course.

*Overseas Courses
Morocco and Nepal are classed as overseas courses and are subject to our terms and conditions of booking above so please make sure you read them before committing to the trip. Once you book a course space I will arrangements and organise the logistics in the country we are visiting. Hopefully you will have no need to cancel but if you do I will try and re-sell the space for you. A deposit is required to book the course and is non-refundable. If you cancel less than 90 days before the course starts I can only offer a refund on your balance payment once I have sold the space on your behalf. Please take out cancellation insurance at your time of booking in case the unexpected happens. (Travel insurance is mandatory for the trip anyway)
