Paul Poole Mountaineering (PPM) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information you provide to PPM via forms on our website(s), by phone, SMS, email, in letters and other correspondence and in person. In order to provide you with PPM services, PPM sometimes needs to collect information about you.

 

PPM is committed to safeguarding your personal information. Whenever you provide such information, PPM is legally obliged to use your information in line with all applicable laws concerning the protection of personal information (these laws are referred to collectively in this Privacy Policy as the “data protection laws”).

PPM’s website may contain hyperlinks to websites owned and operated by third parties. These third party websites have their own privacy policies and PPM, therefore, urges you to review them. They will govern the use of personal information you submit when visiting these websites. PPM does not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third party websites and your use of such websites is at your own risk.

 

WHAT INFORMATION MIGHT PPM COLLECT ABOUT ME?

When you visit PPM’s website and provide contact information to PPM via electronic forms on the website, or contact PPM by phone, SMS, email, in letters and other correspondence and in person PPM may receive personal information about you. The data may include some, or all of the following information: your name, email address and mobile telephone number.

PPM will keep the data about you for as long as it is believed to be accurate and up to date. 

PPM is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides PPM with an online platform that allows it to sell services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. PPM can access this information through this platform but does not hold it electronically at any point. Courses booked through PPM’s online booking system are managed by Bookeo. They collect and hold the data in line with their own privacy policy, which can be read here:  https://www.bookeo.com/privacy/. PPM can access this information through the booking system but does not hold it electronically at any point. A copy of emergency contact and relevant medical information is held by PPM when delivering a course and destroyed on completion.

Any payment via the PPM’s website using a credit/debit card uses an online payment company called Stripe. Your payment is facilitated by Stripe and will show on your statement as being to Stripe. All payments are secure and your card details are not stored by Stripe or PPM; they are encrypted and stored by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant payment gateway. No payment information is held by PPM.

 

HOW MIGHT PPM USE THE INFORMATION IT COLLECTS ABOUT ME?

PPM might use this data to contact you with direct marketing messages by email on the legal basis of consent and legitimate interest in PPM’s services.

PPM may use your personal information for a number of purposes including the following:

    ▪    to provide PPM’s services, activities or online content, to provide you with information about them and to deal with your requests and enquiries;

    ▪    to occasionally send you a newsletter and updates on PPM’s services (via email)

 

SHARING OF INFORMATION

PPM does not collect personal information for sale to third parties for marketing purposes. PPM will never rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses. When another instructor is working with you I need to share some of your personal information. I share your name, phone number, as well as any medical/injury information that you have disclosed. None of your personal information is kept by these instructors longer than the time frame for which they are working with you.

 

WEBSITE COOKIES

Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser that enables sites or service providers to recognise your browser and to capture and remember certain information.

PPM uses Google Analytics to help analyse how users use the site. Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’ to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address if you have not opted out) is transmitted to Google. YOUR CHOICES REGARDING THE INFORMATION YOU SHARE WITH US

Your privacy is very important to PPM which is why PPM makeS sure you’re always in control of what we do with your personal information. You will always have the right to withdraw your consent to PPM holding this data and using it to communicate with you. PPM’s newsletter emails will always include an ‘unsubscribe’ link that once clicked will instantly remove your email address from any further newsletters. You can contact PPM by post or email to inform PPM that you wish to withdraw your consent and PPM will erase your personal information from our database.
