Well it’s clearly been a year of injury for me, after my fight with a large rock back in April, I’ve now been forced to take it a little easier over the next few months. Some of you may know that I’ve been carrying a stress fracture in my foot for a while now. I’ve had to make a conscious decision to spend less time on the mountain over the next few months to allow it to heal properly. This won’t affect any courses over that time frame as I have a couple of good friends supporting me on the hill.
Meanwhile to battle boredom and keep my fitness levels up, I’ve devised a training regime (which will probably last for a few weeks!) that hopefully will keep me in shape! Whoever created the Beastmaker training app needs shooting...I know it’s got ‘Beast’ in the title, but the app is just cruel!!
I’ve also borrowed a road bike and took it for it’s inaugural spin along one of the National Cycle routes around here the other day. I clearly fitted in with my lycra wearing fellow cyclists with panniers (!) in my jeans and trainers. Actually though I’m quite excited about exploring some areas I haven’t been to before.
