I’ve been fortunate to spend a considerable amount of time in the Middle East spending time in the mountains & deserts with the local Bedouin, who are so in tune with their natural surroundings. I first visited the Sinai in the late 90’s on a trip through Egypt and Jordan and have many fond memories of the mountains in that area. Today I was lucky enough to share with Sheikh Ahmed Abu Rashid visiting from the Sinai a small part of Snowdonia. He represented 3 Bedouin tribes that had been nominated for Best New Tourism Initiative in the Wider World by the British Guild of Travel Writers for their creation of the 200km long Sinai Trail
Ben who has been instrumental in helping them in their infancy was keen to show Sheikh Ahmed some UK Mountains after their celebration of winning this grand title on Sunday night!
With snow, rain and some cold temperatures North Wales was certainly different.......
